What the Warranty Covers

The ProGuard Lifetime Limited Residential Warranty covers ProGuard brand wood products only from the date of purchase by the first-owner against structural failure caused by fungal decay or termites. The terms, "rot" and "fungal decay," as used in this warranty mean attack by wood-destroying fungi that disintegrate the wood cell walls, but exclude surface mold and mildew fungi associated with the "weathering" of wood. "Weathering" of wood is not decay, fungal decay or rot of any type or definition. The obligation of Timber Specialties under the terms of this warranty is limited to replacement or the original purchase price of structurally failed ProGuard brand wood products only.

This warranty extends only to ProGuard brand wood products treated to ABOVE GROUND DECKING (6.4 kg/m³ or 0.40 pcf), ABOVE GROUND GENERAL USE (4.0 kg/m³ or 0.25 pcf), and GROUND CONTACT (6.4 kg/m³ or 0.40 pcf) preservative retention levels and used in residential applications allowed by this warranty. All ProGuard products must be treated in accordance with Timber Specialties treatment standards.
